I’m going to crib the opening line from David Howitt: Why We Need More CEOs Who Are Healers – PSFK because it is so poignant.
The Dalai Lama once said, “The planet does not need more successful people. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds.”
I am very much in agreement, but fear that in any public company listed on any of the major exchanges, the analyst community will simply penalize any CEO who admits to sharing this view let alone claim to be like that.
Now for full disclosure: I am not and have never been a CEO, but I have met more than a few. None of them were healer types. How do I know? Well, ore disclosure: I have a level 4 certificate in Healing Touch, have taken Reiki training and worked with healers on and off the table.
The healing metaphor is very different from the quarterly-hit-the-numbers-at-all-cost mentality of most business leaders. It’s going to be a hard sell, so don’t expect too much too soon.
